Its 10pm on Friday the 12th in Hong Kong. Today was my first day in the city. Man its like a huge china town. There are a ton of these huge high rises in the city and its really a pretty spectacular skyline. THe weather is super hot and humid. Its so thick you feel like you can slice through it with a knife. In Edinburgh I remember it was so cold that when we walked by a store and felt the heat we were just drawn to the store. The same is here, except we're drawn to the cool air conditioning. Today I got off the plane and then we went to our hotel. BP International HOuse is where I'm staying. There is a really nice view of the city from my room. THe first meal I ate was won ton noodles. It was really cheap... like 3 US dollars. Then we ate at this really ghetto place on Temple Street. It was so nasty. It was like right out of a movie. We found a bug in one of the straws. I hope I don't get sick from it. The meal was only like 1 US dollar per person. Hong Kong is a pretty fun city. Very unique and has its own character. Today was basically a free day. We begin orientation with the missionary James Buckner tomorrow. I'm staying up trying to fight the jetlag. hahah. Okay I'll write more later.
